Welcome back to the table.

If you haven't heard from me in a week it is because I have been deep in the architecture of The Sovereign Educator. Some of you on the 209 Connect and Ledger lists were missing the updates but we are fixing that glitch today.

You didn't miss the war. You just missed the briefing.

The Minneapolis Mirror

I have been watching the news out of Minneapolis and I can’t shake the feeling that I am watching a mirror.

Alex Pretti, a 37 year old ICU nurse and lawful citizen, was killed by federal agents yesterday. The details are heavy and the loss is absolute. I am not comparing my situation to his tragedy.

But I am comparing the pattern.

The core dynamic is undeniable. An institution with unlimited power versus an individual with limited rights.

It is the national version of what I call the "Twin Engine" problem.

One engine is the System. That is the DHS in Minneapolis or the District here. The other engine is the Individual. That is Alex Pretti there or me here.

When the engines fall out of sync the system doesn't fix the engine. It ejects the pilot.

The Local Reality

You think this dynamic only happens with federal agents?

It happens with paper. It happens with "Human Resources."

The "30 second phone call" that terminated my employment on September 18th was just a quiet version of that same ejection mechanism.

I was a "Super Sub" with two years of "Pay for Service" bonuses. I showed up when others didn't.

But when my off duty voice didn't match their on duty politics the system didn't engage in a conversation. It engaged in a termination.

The Current Silence (Delhi & MUHSD)

The pattern isn't just in the past. It is happening right now.

As I write this I am waiting on responses from two districts. Delhi Unified has missed their 10 day window to reply to my records request. MUHSD (specifically Brett Nickelson) has gone silent after I challenged an attempt to illegally close a request.

It is worth noting that Brett Nickelson came from Delhi Unified. The silence seems to be a shared habit between the two systems.

But silence is an answer too. And we are documenting every second of it.

The 6 Month Timer

On December 22 I received the formal rejection of my Government Tort Claim from MUHSD.

They think this closes the book. It actually starts the clock.

I have exactly 6 months to file a lawsuit for First Amendment Retaliation and Due Process violations.

I am not looking for a quick settlement. I am building a vehicle that can travel all the way to the Supreme Court. Because if a school district can fire a citizen for off duty political speech then the First Amendment is dead.

And I am not letting it die on my watch.

The "Gift Wrap"

I have spent the last week doing the "Shadow Work." This is the discovery phase that usually happens after a lawsuit is filed.

I have "gift wrapped" the case for the right attorney.

  • The Theory: "Twin Engine Retaliation"

  • The Evidence: The "Spoliation" of the termination records (Case File 002)

  • The Comparators: The documented disparity between how leadership was treated versus how I was treated

The Daily Journal

While I build the legal case I am also rebuilding the Sovereign life.

I am documenting the day to day reality of this fight and my recovery on video. This is where I share the raw updates the things I can't put in an email and the real time processing of grief and growth.

If you want to see what this looks like behind the scenes join me here.

Community Corner

We know the world feels heavy right now. Between the news in Minneapolis and the storms here at home it is easy to feel isolated.

You are not alone in this valley.

If you are watching Minneapolis and feeling helpless know this.

Sovereignty isn't given. It is asserted.

My assertion happens in court.
